Tripura duo held in ANTF crackdown

SHILLONG, March 20: Two men hailing from Tripura were arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) from Happy Valley locality of Shillong on Wednesday for reportedly possessing contraband items.
The duo has been identified as Joel Tripura (29) and Joshua Khiangte (36), both hailing from Damchhara, North Tripura.
According to police, following the crackdown, 11 soapboxes containing 139.98-gram heroin, one Aadhaar card, one PAN card, one mobile phone and one Tata Sumo vehicle (ML05N0515) were confiscated.
A case under the NDPS Act has been registered, while investigation into the matter is under way.
