SHILLONG, March 21: The Shillong police has denied displaying leniency towards traffic violators in the state capital.
Addressing media persons here, East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Rituraj Ravi, said the police will soon start a special drive to ensure that two-wheelers do not modify their exhaust pipes, do not overspeed and are not indulged in reckless driving.
Denying the notion that police is lenient towards traffic violators, he said police not only conducts awareness about various sections of law for riders and drivers but also take action against traffic violators.
