SHILLONG, April 2: As BJP and NPP continue to be at the receiving end of the baton for their partnership and mutual understanding, NPP spokesperson HM Shangpliang on Tuesday clarified that both parties respect each other but they are not same.
Shangpliang made it clear that BJP and NPP are in alliance in the NDA at the Centre and there was nothing new in it but the NPP has raised its voice on issues relating to CAA and ILP.
Referring to the decision of the BJP not to field candidates in the two seats in Meghalaya, he said NPP respects the decision of the BJP to enable the NDA candidate Ampareen Lyngdoh to secure an easy victory.
“We look forward to this alliance for further development and betterment of the state,” he said.
