Star Cement begins production at new plant From Our Special

NEW DELHI, April 24: Star Cement, the largest cement manufacturer in Northeast, has commenced commercial production at its new clinker line in Lumshnong, Meghalaya, this week.
This new line boasts a capacity of 3.3 million tonne per year (MTPA). Spanning 200 hectares, Star Cement already operates a 1.67 MTPA integrated cement plant in Lumshnong, strategically located for easy access to high-grade limestone, industry sources said.
Additionally, the company runs two grinding units — a two-MTPA  unit in Sonapur near Guwahati and another in Mohitnagar near Siliguri — each with a capacity of two MTPA which brings their total capacity to around 5.7 MTPA.
Star Cement offers a diverse product range, including ordinary portland cement, portland pozzolana cement (PPC), portland slag cement (PSC), and anti-rust cement (ARC). These cater to the evolving needs of customers, dealers, and contractors in the construction sector, the sources added.
