District level inter school athletics meet 2024 concludes in SWGH

Ampati, April 27: The Office of the District Sports Officer, South West Garo Hills Ampati, in collaboration with the South West Garo Hills Athletic Association, successfully organized a thrilling 2-day District Level Inter School Athletics Meet 2024 at Students’ Field Ampati.
Twenty-one schools from across the district showcased their talent and sportsmanship in this exciting event, which took place on Thursday and Friday. The meet aimed to promote athletic excellence and foster camaraderie among students.
Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills, Hema Nayak, graced the opening ceremony of the Meet as the Chief Guest. She later distributed prizes to the winners, acknowledging their remarkable achievements. Emphul Marak, SDSEO, honored the event as the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony and felicitated the deserving winners.
In the u-18 years boys category, Good Samaritan English School emerged as Champions, showcasing exceptional skill and determination. Meanwhile, St. Claret Higher Secondary School demonstrated commendable performance as runners up. Sengkrip D Sangma of Good Samaritan English School stood out as the best athlete in this category.
In the u-18 girls category, Soudarion Secondary School displayed outstanding prowess, clinching the title of winners, with Mellim Deficit Secondary School securing the runners-up position. Anisatinamony Ch. Marak of St. Claret Higher Secondary School was recognized as the best athlete in this category.
In a fiercely contested under 16 boys category, Soudarion Secondary School emerged triumphant, while Mellim Deficit Secondary School showcased their talent as runners up. Sahil Koch of Sulguri Deficit Secondary School was honored as the best athlete in this competitive category.The u-16 girls category witnessed Rangsakona Higher Secondary School clinching the title of winners, with Good Samaritan English School displaying commendable performance as runners up. Dondimchea A Marak of Good Samaritan English School was hailed as the Best Athlete in this category.
In the u-14 boys category, Soudarion Secondary School once again showcased their dominance, emerging as winners, with Mellim Deficit Secondary School securing the runners-up position. Daldrobath D Marak of Mellim Deficit Secondary School was awarded Best Athlete in this category.
In a thrilling u-14 girls category, Good Samaritan English School emerged victorious, while St. Claret Higher Secondary School showcased their talent as runners up. Hegami D Sangma of St. Claret Higher Secondary School was honored as the Best Athlete in this category.
Soudarion Secondary School claimed the prestigious title of overall team champions of 2024, showcasing their dominance and collective excellence. Good Samaritan English School displayed remarkable sportsmanship throughout the event and deservedly secured the runners-up position.
