Expert committee to solicit public views on reservation policy

SHILLONG, April 27: The Expert Committee on State Reservation Policy formed under the chairmanship of Justice (Retd.) Mool Chand Garg held its second physical meeting here on Saturday.
The committee, comprising Justice (Retd) Dr Satish Chandra, Prof DV Kumar, Prof Chander Shekhar, and Prof Subhadip Mukherjee, convened alongside officials from the Personnel department.
During the session, the committee resolved to issue a public notice to solicit consultations, suggestions, and comments regarding the State Reservation Policy. Furthermore, it was agreed that public hearings would be organised in Shillong, as well as in all other district headquarters, or any other designated locations determined by the committee following input from stakeholders.
The forthcoming meeting of the committee is slated for May 2024.
