NEEPCO-Laitumkhrah route now one-way

Trial run to continue till May 10: STP

SHILLONG, May 2: The Shillong Traffic Police (STP) has restricted the two-way plying of vehicles on the stretch from NEEPCO junction towards Laitumkhrah Police Point.
According to a statement here, the trial run for a one-way route, which is aimed at easing the traffic congestion on the aforesaid stretch of road, will remain in effect between 11 am and 7 pm till May 10.
“NO ENTRY for vehicles coming from Polo/Demseiniong areas and wanting to proceed towards Laitumkhrah via NEEPCO Lower New Colony w.e.f. 3rd-10th May, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Instead, they will have to take the alternate route from B.K Bajoria/4th Furlong junction,” the statement said, adding that Emergency Service vehicles, however, will be facilitated.
