Three held for murder of man in SWKH ‘drug addicts’

MAWKYRWAT, May 6: Mawkyrwat Police on Monday confirmed that the three persons arrested recently in connection with the murder of one Pynskemlang Lyngkhoi (27) of Nongbah Marhillong village, 3 KMs from Mawkyrwat in South West Khasi Hills, were “drug addicts”.
The three arrested persons were Paul Andrew Lakiang (24) of Mawkyrwat village, Michael Wanniang of Marshillong village and Ricky Paul Snaitang of Nonglang village, all hailing from South West Khasi Hills.
It may be mentioned that on April 2, the villagers found the body of (L) Pynskhemlang Lyngkhoi with injury marks on his neck and right hand from a place near the paddy field at Riatthawlong under Mawkyrwat village on the way to Marshillong village.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, the Mawkyrwat Police confirmed that the three arrested persons were drug addicts who have also been arrested in the past for many theft cases in Mawkyrwat and its adjoining areas.
