Dak Adalat
A circle-level ‘Dak Adalat’ will be held in the office of the Chief Postmaster General, North East Circle, Shillong, on May 29 at 11 am. The Dak Adalat will entertain grievances pertaining to Postal Services for its redressal. Written complaints should reach the Chief Postmaster General’s office on or before May 21.

Clarification
In the news item titled ‘Khasi Lineage Act riddled with confusion, should be repealed’, which appeared in The Shillong Times on May 6, 2024, VPP spokesperson Batskhem Myrboh has clarified that his statement must be read as: “The Khasi Lineage Act tries to take away the Khasi status from those following other religions except those who follow traditional faith as it states that those following the personal laws and not compatible with Khasi personal laws would lose the Khasi status. Who has the authority to issue guidelines for the issuance of ST certificate? Is it the KHADC or the Government of India?”
