State mountain bikers shine at Asia Enduro Series in Sri Lanka

Shillong, May 15: State mountain bikers and pioneers of the sport have made history by securing two podium finishes at the First Round of the Asia Enduro Series in Sri Lanka, 2024.
Apshai Griffith Niangti achieved an impressive fifth place in the highly competitive Elite Men Category, while Anissa Lamare secured a remarkable second place in the Women Elite Category.
The event featured riders from nine countries, including Japan, China, Oman, Nepal, UAE, Indonesia, Singapore, host country Sri Lanka, and Canada.
This milestone marks a significant achievement for the privateer mountain bikers, who are the first state riders to earn a spot on an international podium.
Buoyed by their success, they are eager to compete in the upcoming rounds of the Asia Enduro Series 2024, which will take place in Taiwan, China, South Korea, India, and Nepal in the coming months.
Their historic achievements at the Sri Lanka round have not only brought pride to their state but also set a new benchmark for future competitors. With their eyes set on the remaining rounds in Taiwan, China, South Korea, India, and Nepal, both Niangti and Lamare are poised to continue their trailblazing journey in the Asia Enduro Series 2024, inspiring a new generation of mountain bikers along the way.
