Programme

An awareness programme-cum-workshop on environmentally sound management of e-waste by Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board, in collaboration with M/s Hulladek Reycling Private Limited, will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday at Shillong Club.
Relocation
After combined groups from Rongjeng in East Garo Hills opposed the proposed set-up of a bonded warehouse and a wine store near a school in the area, the DC has assured that the former would be shifted to a new location. The assurance from the DC came following a meeting held between the district administration, Excise officials and the opposing groups along with the UCPF on Thursday.

Run

The District Sports Officer, Ri-Bhoi, has informed that the Office of the Medical and Health Officer in collaboration with the District Sports Officer, Ri-Bhoi District, will organise a ‘Run for a Tobacco-Free Meghalaya’ at 6 am on May 31, as part of the World No-Tobacco Day, 2024. The run will be organised from Dulongnar to NSCA Indoor Hall, Umlyngkdait, Nongpoh. It has been informed that interested participants, both male and female, who are above 14 years old, are to visit the District Sports Office, Nongpoh, for registration or call 7085528497/9233490259. Cash prizes will also be awarded to the winners of the run.

Registration

The Office of the District Sports Officer, Ri-Bhoi, has informed that the registration forms for the district-level interschool Subroto Cup football tournament 2024 are available at the District Sports Office, Nongpoh. The last date for the submission of form is June 3, while the screening dates are June 6 and 7. A direction was also given to close the wine store in question.
