Seminar
A two-day faculty seminar, organised by the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Education, William Carey University, Meghalaya, got under way here on Tuesday. According to a statement here, the inaugural programme of the seminar, which is being organised as part of the Faculty Development Programme (FDP), was attended by Vice Chancellor, Dr. Soma Bhowmick. On the other hand, Prof. SM Sungoh, Chairperson of the State Education Commission, was the chief guest for the programme.
Felicitation
The Fashion Society Shillong on Monday organised a ceremony at Nongstoin to honour the volunteers of the Hill State Movement from the districts of Ri-Bhoi and West Khasi Hills. According to a statement here, the programme was attended by around 60 volunteers who were felicitated with mementoes alongside their family members and well-wishers. “This is the second episode of such a kind, the first being at Shillong in 2023, where volunteers of the Hill State Movement attended from all districts of Meghalaya,” the statement said.
