MEA nod mandatory for govt staff to travel abroad

SHILLONG, May 21: The state government has made it mandatory for all its employees to obtain a political clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) before travelling abroad on official duty.
An office memorandum in this regard was issued recently.
Earlier, the government had also made it mandatory for all government employees to obtain permission from the state before embarking on private trips abroad.
