MSOA to conduct 5th Olympic Day Run

Shillong, May 22: In celebration of Olympic Day 2024, the Meghalaya State Olympic Association (MSOA) is organizing the 5th Olympic Day 10K Run. The event will take place on June 22, starting at 6 a.m. from Polo 1st Ground.
The run is open to both men and women aged 16 and above, with two categories: Open and Above 50 years. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each category, with the first place receiving ₹5,000, second place ₹3,000, and third place ₹2,000.Participants can submit their entries at the MSOA office between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., or via WhatsApp at 9233072206 by providing their name and age. Special prizes will be awarded to senior citizens who complete the race.On the morning of the event, free t-shirts will be distributed to participants on a first-come, first-served basis, and light refreshments will be provided for all. The route will follow the same path as last year, starting from the stadium, passing through 4th Furlong, Shillong College, Don Bosco, Police Point Beat House, Fire Brigade, St. Edmund’s, Malki, Civil Hospital, Secretariat, D.C. Office, Raj Bhavan, Wards Lake, and back to Polo and the stadium.Entry to the run is free, encouraging widespread participation and celebration of Olympic Day.
