100 years of Innerwheel Club

SHILLONG, June 9: The Innerwheel Club of Shillong celebrated its Centennial District Assembly-CENTENAIRE-The Shillong Chapter with a series of activities on Friday and Saturday.
The event marked a historic milestone of 100 years of dedicated service, community engagement, and unwavering commitment to social causes.
The Assembly-CENTENAIRE-The Shillong Chapter was inaugurated by International Innerwheel President Mamta Gupta who shared insights into the impactful journey of the club over the century.
Outstanding members and clubs were honoured for their exceptional contributions to the community and the Innerwheel movement.
Students from B K Bajoria School, Laban Bengali Girls’ School, and Bethany Society presented a vibrant cultural programme.
Interactive sessions focusing on contemporary issues such as women’s empowerment, health and hygiene, education, and environmental sustainability, were the major features of the event.
Part of the global Innerwheel movement, one of the largest women’s voluntary service organisations in the world, the Innerwheel Club of Shillong, founded in 1924, has been at the forefront of numerous social initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the underprivileged and fostering a spirit of camaraderie and service among its members.
This Centennial District Assembly was not only a celebration of past achievements but also a platform to inspire future endeavors that align with the club’s mission of ‘Friendship and Service.’
