Magistrate among 4 held for issuing fake caste certificates
NEW DELHI, June 14: The Delhi Police has arrested four people, including an executive magistrate in the revenue department, for allegedly issuing fake caste certificates to people from non-reserved categories, a senior official said on Friday. Executive magistrate Narender Pal Singh, his driver Waris Ali, an outsourced employee of Delhi government’s 1076 helpline Chetan Yadav and agent Sourabh Gupta were arrested by the Crime Branch of the city police More than a hundred illegal caste certificates were seized from the accused. In March, information was received about a racket involved in issuing fake caste certificates to non-deserving candidates, police said.A decoy applicant from the general category was sent to a person suspected to be a key member of the racket for getting an OBC certificate.The decoy easily got the OBC certificate issued by the Department adding that the officials took Rs 3,500 from him in return and also uploaded the certificate on the department’s website. A trap was laid by the police and the accused was arrested on May 9 by Delhi Crime Branch. (PTI)

Five killed, 20 injured as tractor-trolley overturns
DATIA, (MP) June 14: Five persons, including three girls and two women, were killed and 20 injured after a tractor-trolley carrying devotees to a temple overturned in Madhya Pradesh’s Datia district in the early hours of Friday, police said.The victims were on their way to the Ratangarh Mata shrine when the accident took place near Maithana Pali around 4.30 am, a police official said.The vehicle veered off the road, overturned and plunged 15 feet into a culvert.Three girls and two women lost their lives in the accident, the official said.Prima facie, it appears that the tractor-trolley driver dozed off which resulted in the accident.
