ABVP holds mini-marathon to mark 76th foundation day

SHILLONG, July 9: The Shillong and Jowai units of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Tuesday joined the nationwide celebrations of National Students’ Day to commemorate its 76th foundation day.
According to a statement here, the ABVP, as part of the celebrations, organised a mini-marathon in the state capital, which was participated by people in the age group of age 14-30 years.
The event was also attended by ABVP State Secretary Tengku M. Marak, NEC member Promila Tham, District Convenor Sainwarn Khongjee, City Organising Secretary Bomsing Khongtir, and ABVP karyakartas.
“Cash prizes along with certificates and mementoes were presented to the winners, and certificates of participation were presented to all,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, a similar mini marathon in Jowai was organised by the ABVP as part of its 76th foundation day.
The event was attended by ABVP State Joint Secretary Delis Shylla, ABVP State Sports Activity in-charge Firstly Sari, as well as ABVP karyakartas from Jowai.
