Nongpoh MLA pushes for appointment of Ri-Bhoi residents to district posts

NONGPOH, July 15: Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem has called for prioritising the appointment of permanent residents of Ri-Bhoi district to various posts within the District Selection Committee (DSC).
Speaking to the media persons following a meeting with Ri-Bhoi Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal, Nongpoh MDC Balajied Ranee and other DSC members in Nongpoh on Monday, Syiem said the primary focus of the meeting was on the pending results of DSC examinations from 2020-21.
Addressing concerns from youths and parents about the delay of results, Syiem explained the same was due to the DSC’s preparation of the roster system.
Expressing optimism that results would be announced by August or September 2024, he urged the candidates to be patient.
The MLA then highlighted the issue of existing vacancies in various departments that have not yet been advertised.
He urged the district administration, especially the DC, who is also the Chairman of DSC, to expedite the advertisement process to fill these vacancies promptly.
