SHILLONG, July 22: Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh has informed that the state government will recruit around 164 General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and 60 Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) against sanctioned posts, advertisement for which will be floated by August or September this year.
Lyngdoh said the government acknowledges the huge shortage of paramedic staff in various institutes since different facilities like operation theatres and first referral units, sanctioned by the central government, are going to be inaugurated shortly.
She said that the government recently issued an advertisement for hiring nurses and paramedic staff on contractual basis since there was no proper sanction.
