NEHU VC is member of Commonwealth Universities

Shillong, Aug 2: NEHU Vice Chancellor Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla has been elected executive council member of the prestigious Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), UK.
The university proudly announced the significant achievement as it marks a milestone for NEHU and underscores its growing prominence on the global higher education stage.
Prof. Shukla expressed his deep honour and enthusiasm about the election. “Being elected as an executive council member of the ACU is a significant milestone, not just for me but also for NEHU. This role provides a unique platform to contribute to the advancement of higher education across Commonwealth countries, with a special focus on NEHU.”
As a new member of the ACU Executive Council, Prof. Shukla outlined his primary goals to enhance international collaboration in higher education, promote R&D initiatives, and advocate for quality education.
‘I aim to strengthen partnerships between member universities, particularly focusing on NEHU’s efforts for the internationalization of higher education as envisioned in NEP 2020. Additionally, I plan to integrate innovative technologies and best practices in education to address current challenges and drive growth,’ he said.
