SHILLONG, Aug 7: A memorandum outlining what ails the western part of Ri-Bhoi was submitted to Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong by the Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM), which has asked the Deputy CM to address three key issues.
HANM Western Ri-Bhoi president Sumar Lyngdoh outlined the demands made by the group during its meeting.
The HANM has sought the establishment of a new police outpost in Balakhawa village, bordering Assam, so as to ensure peace as well as security for border residents. HANM and Belahari villagers have urged Deputy CM to sanction funds for a proper road in the village bordering Assam. Thirdly, HANM emphasised on the need for a Fire and Emergency Service Station in Patharkhmah village, flagging the importance of preventing and addressing fire incidents in western Ri-Bhoi.
