NPP picks its candidate from Ranikor for MDC polls

MAWKYRWAT, Aug 11: The NPP has decided to field party’s working president, Mandilos Nongbri, as its candidate for the upcoming MDC elections from Ranikor (Langrin) constituency.
The decision was taken by the NPP Ranikor Block Committee in a meeting held on Saturday at Nongjri Dorbar Hall, under Ranikor Civil Sub-division in which all the party workers unanimously chose Nongbri as the party candidate.
Speaking on the occasion, Nongbri acknowledged the party’s decision and expressed joy.
Stating that the constituency lags behind in several fronts, Nongbri said the main objective in contesting the elections is to bring development to Ranikor.
Adviser of the NPP Ranikor Block Committee and NPP youth wing president, Kitborlang Nongrem said that the Committee will soon recommend the name of Nongbri to the State Election Committee. He expressed gratitude to the president of NPP Ranikor Block Committee, Nelbi T Sangma, and working president Mandilos Nongbri for organising and strengthening the party at the constituency-level.
