Workers clear debris from a landslide on NH-6 at Kuliang in East Jaintia Hills on Monday. A joint inspection was conducted on Monday by Sutnga-Saipung MLA, Santa Mary Shylla, the EJH DC and SP, Project Director of NHAI, and other
concerned officials. The officials directed NHAI to employ more JCBs and
excavators in landslide-prone Lumshnong, Sonapur and Kuliang to avoid
long traffic jams. NHAI has also been directed to fill potholes, implement
drain works and culverts to avoid further damage to the highway. (ST)
