Rongjeng groups move CM for infra devp

TURA, Aug 19: Various organizations from Rongjeng in East Garo Hills have submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma urging him to look into various issues in connection with the upliftment of the area in terms of infrastructure.
The memorandum by the combined groups of which included the GSU, FKJGP, ASWA, NGCO, AOSW, APA, GSMC and AAYF, was handed over to the Chief Minister during the inauguration of the Rongjeng Model Degree College on Monday.
In the memorandum, the combined groups, while lauding the Chief Minister for establishing the college in the area, urged the government to take up other development works for the area.
Some of the demands made by the combined groups in the memorandum included the construction of the Civil Sub-Division Administrative building, upgradation of the Rongjeng CHC to a Civil Hospital, upgradation of Rongmil Sub Centre to PHC, installation of street lights at Proper Rongjeng, the construction of a Circuit at Rongjeng and the construction of a Parking Lot at Rongjeng market.
