Shillong, Aug 22: The Durand Cup Organising Committee has announced a significant adjustment to the scheduling and location of one of the semifinal matches in the ongoing Durand Cup Football Tournament.
The match between Northeast United FC and Shillong Lajong FC will now be held on Monday, August 26, at 5:30 PM. The venue for this high-stakes clash has been moved to JLN Stadium in Shillong.
This change comes in response to the electrifying performances of both Northeast United FC and Shillong Lajong FC in the quarterfinals, which have heightened anticipation among fans.
The decision to reschedule and relocate the match was driven by the overwhelming support from the fan bases of both teams and the traditional significance of Shillong as a stronghold for these clubs.
The new date and venue aim to provide fans with an optimal experience and to honor the deep-rooted football culture in Shillong. The committee believes this move will enhance the match’s atmosphere and ensure that both teams receive the fervent support they deserve as they vie for a spot in the final.
Other tournament fixtures remain unaffected by this change.
