RKM distributes 921 certificates to meritorious trainees at city prog

SHILLONG, Aug 24: The Ramakrishna Mission (RKM) on Friday distributed 921 certificates to meritorious trainees of its computer and language programs during a programme here.
The event marked the convocation for the 106th batch of computer trainees and the 45th batch of language students from the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre.
This convocation, covering the June-August 2024 session, honoured around 1,200 youths from various parts of the Northeastern states.
On the occasion, the top performers in academics were recognised, including Maya Boro for Computer-Beginner, Mary Eugenia Suting for Intermediate, Amethyst M Basanshrieh for Tally-I, Riya Das for Tally-II, Micheal Rynjah for DTP, Iarilang Lyngdoh Nonglait for Web Designing, Bapyndapbor Wahlang for Python, and Medarishisha L Ryntathiang for DEO.
Whilst toppers received mementoes, two expert-level students, Simran Khatun and Pooja Basumatary, were awarded computer gifts.
In his address, Swami Vedeshananda, Director of Academics at the institute, congratulated the students and urged them to follow Swami Vivekananda’s teachings, emphasising self-reliance and entrepreneurship over waiting for government jobs.
Programme Executive at Akashvani, Lucy Malngiang, who was the chief guest on the occasion, highlighted the importance of self-belief and dreaming big, while acknowledging the role of the Ramakrishna Mission in medical, educational and relief work.
