Shillong, Sep 2: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) on Monday flagged concern over irregularities in the recruitment examination conducted to fill vacant positions at the Ayush Hospital under the National Ayush Mission (NAM).
The KSU Employment Monitoring Cell, led by its chairman, Reuben Najiar, also called on the District Medical & Health Officer (DMHO) of East Khasi Hills District in this regard.
It may be mentioned that the District Ayush Society (DAS) had advertised the vacant positions on May 13 this year, and the recruitment examination was conducted in phases over the past few months, the results of which were announced recently.
Stating that five candidates were selected for the personal interview for the post of District Programme Manager (DPM) after clearing the written exam, Najiar, however, pointed out that two of these candidates were not among the 20 applicants listed for the DPM post as per the DMHO’s notification.
“How can candidates who did not apply for the vacant post be selected to appear for the personal interview?” questioned Najiar.
The KSU has sought clarification from the DMHO, who is also the member secretary of  the District Ayush Society in East Khasi Hills.
Najiar further said that according to the DMHO, they had appointed a nodal officer responsible for overseeing the recruitment process.
“We were assured by the DMHO that she will find out the details and accordingly informed us on this alleged irregularities,” Najiar added.
