Ampati, Sep 5: The 2nd edition of the MLA Cup Football Tournament in Mahendraganj Constituency kicked off on Thursday at the Boldamgre Playground in South West Garo Hills.
Organised by the Rangdokram Socio-Cultural Club, Boldamgre, the tournament has drawn 31 teams from the region, reflecting the community’s deep passion for football. The competition serves as an Inter-Locality Football Tournament, providing a platform for local players to showcase their skills and talent.The opening match between Domapara FC and Garagre FC ended in a thrilling 1-1 draw, with Domapara FC edging out Garagre FC 4-3 in a tie-breaker, setting the stage for a high-energy tournament.
Beyond football, the MLA Cup aims to foster unity and camaraderie among the localities, promoting the physical and mental well-being of the region’s youth. The tournament will continue in the coming days, with teams competing fiercely for the coveted title.
