SHILLONG, Sep 5: In a bid to empower the youth of Meghalaya by developing vital skills in the beauty and hair industry, the ‘Executive Course on Makeup and Hair Training’, part of the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme, was inaugurated with enthusiasm at the Youth Hostel here.
Dignitaries attending the event included Shashank B Dash, SPIU Team Leader; IZ Wreang, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Commerce and Industries; and ML Wanshnong, Joint Director of Commerce and Industries. The course will be led by renowned trainer Elizabeth Mukhim, who has studied extensively in France, Thailand, and Singapore. She will share her expertise with 50 students from various districts of Meghalaya.
Sponsored by the Department of Commerce and Industries, and conducted by the Rajeev Gandhi Computer Training Center and Nursery Teachers Training Academy (RGCTC & NTTA), the course will cover makeup, hair cutting, colouring, and styling. The training offers the youth of Meghalaya new pathways to success in the beauty industry.
The RAMP Scheme, a central initiative by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), is aimed at scaling up MSMEs across India by enhancing market access and credit opportunities.
With an outlay of Rs 6062.45 crore, it targets the improvement of 5.55 lakh MSMEs nationwide.
