ASHAs in Ri-Bhoi get tablets
NONGPOH, Sep 5: In a step aimed to bolster the effectiveness of Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) in Ri-Bhoi, the state government distributed tablets equipped with health-related applications to the health workers at the Conference Hall of the Ri Bhoi DC’s office here on September 3. Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal alongside District Medical & Health Officer handed over the tablets to the ASHAs. The initiative is designed to improve the efficiency of ASHAs in addressing health issues within the community. The tablets, pre-loaded with various health applications, will enable ASHAs to upload and collect data, access health information, track patient records, and communicate effectively with healthcare providers. This digital upgrade is expected to facilitate timely interventions, accurate data analysis, and improved patient outcomes, enhancing overall community engagement and healthcare service delivery. In his address, Deputy Commissioner Baranwal emphasised that this digital empowerment will significantly benefit the ASHAs by enabling them to offer better healthcare services and strengthening their role in community health management.

Church in Ri-Bhoi gets Rs 2 lakh for Golden Jubilee preparations
NONGPOH, Sep 5: In anticipation of its Golden Jubilee celebration, marking 50 years since its establishment, the Catholic Church in Majong, Ri-Bhoi, has been granted Rs 2 lakh for infrastructure development. The funds, sanctioned under the SRWP scheme for 2023-24, were delivered by Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem. Syiem handed over the work order to Mathius Maring, the Headman of Majong village. The funds will be utilised to construct a podium and bell tower, key features in the preparations for the church’s Golden Jubilee celebration, set to take place on February 9, 2025. During the event, MLA Syiem expressed his gratitude for being part of this important gathering with church leaders, community members, and families. He extended his best wishes to the church leaders and village authorities, encouraging them to continue their dedicated service to the community and to strengthen the community’s faith. Syiem also highlighted the church’s approaching 50-year milestone as a significant achievement.
