Shillong, Sep 8: Myngken Christian Higher Secondary School from Meghalaya is set to clash with Government Secondary School Yazali from Arunachal Pradesh in the semi-final of the 63rd Subroto Cup Junior Boys U-17 tournament.
The match will take place at Tejas Football Ground, Air Force area, Delhi, on Monday at 10 AM.
Myngken Christian Higher Secondary secured their spot in the final four with a commanding 3-1 victory over Minerva Public School, Mohali, in the quarterfinal. Star player Banganson led the charge with an impressive hat-trick, while Minerva’s Hemneichung managed to score a consolation goal.
The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has extended its best wishes to the school from Bhoirymbong, Ri Bhoi District, for their upcoming semi-final clash.
In a statement, KHADC Chief Executive Member Pyniaid Syiem praised the school’s achievement, stating, “The team has made the state proud by reaching the semi-finals.
It would be a great honour for the state if they go on to win the U-17 Subroto Cup.”
