Man arrested for raping, killing masseuse
GURUGRAM, Sep 8: A man has been arrested for allegedly raping and strangulating to death a 23-year-old woman at a guesthouse near Jharsa village here on Sunday. The masseuse, a resident of UP, was called to the guesthouse by Anil Pahal, 40, on Saturday evening.Pahal, claimed that he killed the woman following a heated argument between them over she demanding extra money, police said.Information about a woman’s body lying in a room of the guesthouse was received late night on Saturday.Pahal said he worked as a customs broker in Delhi and had booked a room at the guesthouse for two days .He claimed that he had booked the masseuse’s services for Rs 5,000 online on Saturday but she demanded Rs 2,500 more. Police said that Pahal has been booked for rape and murder. (PTI)

UPSC aspirant ends life by jumping from 8th floor
THANE, Sep 8: A 28-year-old civil services aspirant allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the eight floor of a building in Thane on Sunday.The incident took place at around 8.30 pm on Saturday in Vartak Nagar area.The police found a ‘suicide’ note in the man’s house wherein he apologised to his family members saying he could not fulfil everyone’s high hopes and was finding it difficult to survive in this world.The official said that according to the man’s friends, he might have been depressed as he could not clear the exam and hence took the extreme step. Two of a family killed, as bus hits two-wheeler
UMARIA, (MP) Sep 8: Two members of a family were killed, and one sustained injuries after a private bus hit their two-wheeler Umaria district on Sunday.Narbad Singh (70) was travelling with his 17-year-old grandson Ganesh and granddaughter Phula Bai (18) on a two-wheeler when a private bus hit the vehicle, he said.The man was on his way to drop his grandchildren off at their hostels.Narbad Singh and his grandson were killed on the spot, while Phula Bai was seriously injured and is undergoing treatment at the district hospital. SP leader booked for raping woman
MAU, (UP) Sep 8: A local Samajwadi Party (SP) leader has been booked for allegedly raping an 18-year-old woman several times and threatening to kill her, in Mau district, police said on Sunday.Police said the accused Virendra Pal, who is also an advocate, raped the woman for almost a year. He is absconding and efforts are on to nab him.The complainant alleged that she used to assist Pal in his legal work.The woman claimed that Pal lured her into his car at a deserted location where he gave her cold drink laced with sedatives and then forcibly raped her. He allegedly filmed the assault and used the video to blackmail her, continuing to exploit her physically and extorting Rs 4 lakh. It is also alleged that the accused last met her on July 16 and 17 at a hotel, where he again raped her. On September 6, when she confronted him to retrieve her vehicle, he thrashed her, abused her, and threatened to kill her. A case has been registered.(PTI)
