DLSA to hold roadshows, activities on September 13 in West Garo Hills
TURA, Sep 10: The MJS cum Secretary, DLSA in West Garo Hills has informed that teams from the Red FM 93.5 Shillong will be arriving at Tura to organize On-Ground Activities/ Roadshows/ Studio Shifts on September 13 (Friday). According to a notification, the various events would begin from 9:00 AM onwards as part of the On-Ground Activities under the Campaign titled, “Opening Doors for Education to Children” and “Back to School Campaign” at the Tura Super Market, Chandmari Market, Tura and Rongram Market. The programme is being organized by District Legal Services Authority, Tura in collaboration with Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority under the aegis National Legal Services Authority.

NEHU Pol Science dept inaugurates golden jubilee celebrations
SHILLONG, Sep 10: The Department of Political Science, North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, on Tuesday inaugurated its golden jubilee celebrations with a programme held under the chairmanship of Head of the Department, Prof. TT Hoakip, here. The inaugural programme was attended by former faculty members, Prof. Apurba Kumar Baruah and Prof. LS Gassah, who shared their experiences as educators and researchers at NEHU. The inaugural programme was also attended by current faculty members, research scholars, and postgraduate students. It may be mentioned that as part of the golden jubilee celebrations, the department will host a series of lectures, beginning with the Prof. B. Pakem Memorial Lecture on September 17.

LH Pde. The award was instituted by the family
of (L) LH Pde in 2018, as an incentive to the
less-privileged students of the school.
