JOWAI, Sep 10: The Society for Urban and Rural Empowerment (SURE), in partnership with Nongtalang College, has launched a skill development training programme for degree students in the border area. The initiative, part of the RUSA Equity Initiative Scheme, offers training in food processing, soap making, mushroom cultivation, and beekeeping.
The programme, spearheaded by Dr Ryan Reid Kharkongor, aims to equip students with entrepreneurial skills. Speaking at the launch on Monday, Dr Kharkongor revealed that the college is also collaborating with PRIME Meghalaya to encourage entrepreneurship.
Secretary of SURE, HH Mohrmen, expressed confidence that the training, supported by the Meghalaya State Skill Development Society would provide valuable opportunities.
