Preparations under way for 3rd Sohra Half Marathon 2024

Shillong, Sep 17: As preparations for the 3rd Sohra International Half Marathon 2024 ramp up, officials from the Athletic Federation of India are set to arrive on September 19, 2024, to review the technical arrangements, including the entire 21K route.
The route, which stretches from Laitsohpliah to Mawsmai on the Sohra Highway, will be temporarily closed to the public from 6 AM to 10 AM on the race day.
Online registered participants for both the 21K and 10K events are advised to collect their bib numbers and T-shirts on September 19 and 20, 2024, from 10 AM to 4 PM at the JN Stadium, Polo Grounds, Shillong. Participants must present a registration acknowledgment and a photocopy of their ID as proof.
The 5K Run will kick off at 6:30 AM, flagged off by Shri Gavin Mylliem, MLA & Adviser to the Meghalaya Health Advisory Board. The 10K event will follow at 6:45 AM, with Smt. Isawanda Laloo, IAS, Secretary, Sports, Govt. of Meghalaya, doing the honours. The 21K Half Marathon will be flagged off at 7:00 AM by Dr. Vijay Kumar D, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Sports, Govt. of Meghalaya.
Participants traveling from Shillong are reminded that the last bus to the venue will depart at 4:30 AM sharp.
The organizing committee urges all participants to arrive on time and be well-prepared for the event.
