SP Office to issue stickers for cabs, auto rickshaws in EKH

SHILLONG, Sep 20: The Office of the East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police has said that it will issue stickers with allotted numbers to all local taxis and auto rickshaws operating within the district.
According to a statement here, the issuance will take place from October 22 to December 17, 2024, at a rate of Rs 150 per sticker. After this period, a late fee of Rs 500 will be charged for obtaining the stickers.
Meanwhile, in order to procure the stickers, the taxi and auto rickshaw owners or representatives have been asked to submit a list of documents in both original and photocopy form. They include a registration certificate, permit, insurance certificate, fitness certificate, trading license (for non-tribal owners), professional tax, passenger tax, MLMTU certificate, pollution certificate, and a copy of EPIC, Aadhaar, or any other ID proof.
“After all documents are found to be valid, a sticker will be issued and it should be pasted on the left side of the front windshield of the taxi/auto rickshaw,” the statement said.
