SHILLONG, Sep 24: A right-wing group, which has announced a rally in Shillong on October 2 against cow slaughter, is yet to apply for any permission from the East Khasi Hills district administration.
East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, RM Kurbah confirmed that no group has come forward seeking permission to hold any rally in Shillong on October 2.
The Gau Dhwaj Sthapana Bharat Yatra, commencing on September 22 and set to continue until October 26, is aimed at gaining support across the country for a total ban on cow slaughter.
The group earlier this month had announced that they will organise the rally in Shillong on October 2 seeking an end to cow slaughter and beef consumption.
