SHILLONG, Sep 26: Asian Confluence, a leading Shillong-based think tank, organised a special networking session on Wednesday, during which the importance of education as a key area of cooperation between India and Thailand was discussed.
The session, organised on the topic ‘India-Thailand Relations: Promoting Educational Collaborations with Northeastern States’, also put emphasis on human resource development and youth skill enhancement in India’s Northeastern Region (NER).
According to a statement, the session was attended by a Thai delegation of officials and academicians, which was led by Sasirit Tangulrat, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand.
Tangulrat, who was the guest of honour for the event, emphasised the significance of educational partnerships in strengthening ties between Thailand and the NER. She also highlighted the need to enhance opportunities for education, vocational training and the tourism sector.
