SHILLONG, Sep 28: Vice President Venkaiah Naidu on Friday suggested the outgoing graduates of ASBM University, Bhubaneswar, to participate in nation-building and shaping India into a world leader.
Addressing the fourth convocation of the university as the chief guest, the Vice President asked the outgoing students to do so by putting their education to the best.
Maintaining that learning is a life-long process and is not limited to books alone, Naidu remarked that knowledge is the supreme wealth.
He then said that the vision of the founder-president of the university, Prof. Biswajeet Pattanayak, has been pivotal in positioning the university as a cornerstone of education in Odisha.
The Vice President also expressed his happiness with ASBM University engaging in imparting holistic education with a futuristic focus to prepare the youths to face global competitions and challenges.
Meanwhile, Prof. Pattanayak, in his address, advised the outgoing students to appreciate and be grateful for the educational assets that they now possess.
“They should acknowledge with gratitude what they have received because as the Indian scriptures say each human being has to pay back some debts that they are born with,” he said.
