BSF troops seize items worth Rs 43 lakh; 5 held

SHILLONG, Sep 30: The Border Security Force (BSF) has apprehended five Indian nationals and seized a truck and a bus loaded with edible items in East Khasi Hills district.
According to a statement here, the 193 Battalion BSF on September 29 intercepted one truck and one bus at Ranikor-Dangar T-junction, which was coming from Shillong towards the border area and was loaded with edible items worth approximately Rs 43,00,000.
During the inquiry, the drivers failed to produce valid documents related to the vehicles and the loaded items, the statement said.
The five apprehended Indian nationals, along with the vehicles and seized items, were subsequently handed over to the Dangar Police Outpost.
