NEIGRIHMS celebrates Hindi Pakhwada

Shillong, Oct 3: NEIGRIHMS successfully celebrated Hindi Pakhwada from September 17 to 30, with a range of literary and cultural activities. Competitions such as Hindi dictation, poetry recitation, and comic writing were organized to promote the use of Hindi in daily official work, following the Centre’s guidelines.
The event concluded with a closing ceremony featuring Padma Shri awardee Silbi Passah as chief guest. NEIGRIHMS Director Prof Nalin Mehta emphasised Hindi’s role in uniting diverse communities. The programme highlighted the importance of language in government communications and fostering national identity.
Faculty, staff, and students participated in the festivities, with winners receiving prizes and certificates.
