SHILLONG, Oct 5: Local MLA Sanbor Shullai on Thursday inaugurated and officially handed over the newly constructed playfield and seating gallery at Arya Vidyalaya Secondary School, Jhalupara. The school, which was established in 1934, now boasts a modern facility for sports and recreational activities.
During the event, Shullai highlighted that the Cantonment Civil Area is densely populated, leaving little space for children and youth to engage in sports. He emphasised that the newly constructed playfield will serve not only the students of Arya Vidyalaya but also the youth, students, and sports clubs of the entire Cantonment Civil Area. With the approval of the school’s managing committee, this facility will help promote sports and foster development across the community.
Speakers at the program praised Shullai’s efforts in implementing various development projects within the Cantonment Area and across the South Shillong.
