Selection trials for induction at SAI Shillong from November 7

Shillong, Oct 22: The Sports Authority of India (SAI) Training Centre, Shillong, has announced the dates for the upcoming selection trials aimed at identifying talented sportspersons for induction under both residential and non-residential schemes.
The trials will be conducted for four key disciplines—Archery, Boxing, Judo, and Karate—and are open to athletes in the 12-18 age group.
The trials for archery will take place on November 7-8, 2024 and for boxing, judo, karate on November 8-9, 2024 (for both boys and girls under the residential scheme. The trials will take place at the Sports Authority of India, NEHU Campus, Shillong.
The selection process will be based on sports performance, merit, and achievements at recognized competitions at international, national, state, or district levels.
Candidates will also undergo a series of skill tests and a battery of physical evaluations based on their age.
Apart from their performance, candidates will be assessed on their attitude and aptitude towards their respective sports.
Applicants are required to bring two recent passport-sized photographs, an Aadhar card, an attested copy of their birth certificate, and certificates of sports achievements. A medical fitness certificate from a recognized practitioner is mandatory to participate in the trials.
Candidates must be between the ages of 12 and 18 as of November 1, 2024.
First, second, and third place holders in district-level championships and competitions organized by recognized educational boards (CBSE, Kendriya Vidyalayas, etc.) are eligible to apply.
The selection will be finalized following proper age verification and medical examination. SAI will not be held responsible for any medical eventualities that arise during the trials.
