Unclaimed body
On October 25 morning, one unknown male was found lying in an unconscious state at Syndicate Bus Stand, Iew Mawlong, following which he was immediately shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital for medical treatment. However, on October 26, information was received from Police Assistant Booth, Shillong, that the person had passed away. Following the inquest and other legal formalities, the body has been kept at Shillong Civil Hospital morgue room for identification and claim. It may be mentioned that the person is approximately 30-40 years old, approximately 154 cms tall, has a swarthy complexion, long face, black hair, thin build, and black moustache and beard. He was found wearing light blue shirt, and a pair of blue jeans. Meanwhile, all concerned have been asked to call 0364-2224818 or 0364-2222214 for identification and claim of the body.

Holiday
The West Garo Hills district administration has declared November 7 as a local holiday on account of 100 Drums Wangala Festival. In this regard, all government offices, courts and educational institutions will remain closed on the day.
