Two Assam youths killed in RB road mishap

NONGPOH, Nov 3: Two youths from Assam lost their lives in a tragic road mishap on NH-6 at Shangbangla in Ri-Bhoi on Sunday morning. The incident occurred when a motorcycle (AS01 FF 3367) collided with a truck on the Guwahati-Shillong lane.
Nilutpal Dowari (23), a resident of Sarupathar and Gargee Chutia (21) of Charaideo died on the spot when they allegedly attempted to overtake a truck (AS01 RC 0413) but came under the rear wheels of the truck after losing control due to excessive speeding.
Their bodies were taken to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for post-mortem. The truck driver Helmi Suting (34) of Moorathud in West Jaintia Hills was also medically examined at the hospital.
