NONGPOH, Nov 7: In the interest of public safety and to ensure the smooth operation of an upcoming sea plane demonstration, the District Magistrate of Ri-Bhoi district administration has issued a prohibitory order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. The order restricts all water-related activities at Umiam Lake on November 14 from 7 am to 1 pm.
The restrictions apply to boating, fishing, water sports, rides, and other similar activities, as well as the presence of individuals in the lake area during the specified time. This measure aims to prevent any incidents related to the sea plane demonstration scheduled for the same period.
