Training prog on digital health devices in city

SHILLONG, Nov 13: A training programme on the use of the Digital Diabetes Foot Scanner and Digital Stethoscope, developed by IIT-Bombay, was held at the State Resource Center on Disability Affairs, Civil Hospital, Shillong, on Wednesday. Organised by the Office of the Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Social Welfare department, and Bethany Society, the programme brought together medical professionals and health workers from institutions such as Nazareth Hospital, Dr Robert Gordon Hospital, and Ramkrishna Mission.
Experts from IIT-Bombay led the training, demonstrating the devices’ potential in improving healthcare accessibility for underserved communities. Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, CD Lyngwa, underscored the importance of such technology in inclusive healthcare.
Bethany Society’s Executive Director, Padma Shree Bertha GDkhar, expressed gratitude to IIT-Bombay’s Dr Rupali Khanolkar and her team, highlighting Bethany Society’s commitment to inclusion.
