KV Umroi hosts essay writing competition

SHILLONG, Nov 18: As part of National Library Week celebrations from November 14 to 20, PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Umroi Cantt hosted an essay writing competition for students of Classes VI to VIII on November 18, to foster creativity and reflective thinking, centered on the theme ‘How Books Influence Life and Learning.’
Over 50 students submitted essays in Hindi or English during the 45-minute session. A panel of judges evaluated the entries based on creativity, relevance, structure, and language proficiency.
Gyanankur Kashyap and Adarsh Singh (Class VIII) were adjudged first, while Dharsha S (Class VII) and Avani Patidar (Class VIII) and Larisha (Class VIII) and Anwesha Biswal (Class VI) stood second and third respectively. Winners will receive certificates and books as prizes, encouraging their passion for reading.
