Week-long Jal Utsav campaign in Nongpoh

Nongpoh, Nov 20: The two-week-long Jal Utsav campaign on water conservation, organized by NITI Aayog and the Jal Jeevan Mission, concluded on Wednesday with a closing event at St. Paul’s Parish Hall, Nongpoh.
The event, attended by PHE Minister Marcuise N Marak, Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal, and other officials, featured an oath-taking ceremony, distribution of prizes to the winners of Jal Utsav Run 7KM, drawing and painting competitions, and essay and slogan competitions. Field testing kits were also handed over to the beneficiaries of five villages — Iewmawlong, Mawdiangum, Pahamsyiem, Umlyngkdait and Shangbangla.
Deputy Commissioner Baranwal highlighted the campaign’s aim to promote community participation in water conservation, while chief guest Marcuise N Marak praised the collective efforts of stakeholders in fostering sustainable development.
