Two-member central probe team arrives in NEHU

SHILLONG, Nov 24: The two-member central team constituted by the Ministry of Education to probe into the allegations of irregularities against NEHU Vice Chancellor Prabha Shankar Shukla arrived at the university on Sunday.
A reliable source from the university said that the probe team will hold interactions with the student bodies (NEHUSU and KSU NEHU Unit) on Monday.
Following their meeting with the student bodies, the two-member committee is likely to meet other stakeholders of the university including teachers and non-teaching staff.
The team is likely to make spot inspections to assess the infrastructure inside the university campus.
The committee consisting of former UGC Chairman, Prof DP Singh and former Vice Chancellor of Assam University, Prof Dilip Chandra Nath will go back to Delhi on Tuesday to prepare its report to be submitted to the Ministry.
The committee will only have two days to compile its report since their 15-day deadline ends on November 29.
